them at St Kilda today.

- Police are warning old mine shafts beneath the surface of Lake Daylesford are a death
trap, following the drowning death of a teenager there yesterday.

- Angry Westernport residents have called on the Victorian government to dump plans
for a larger port and rail link to Hastings.

- Two Carlton AFL footballers, Lance Whitnall and Heath Scotland, are being investigated
over the assault of two patrons outside a Ballarat hotel early today.
